A Plasma Arc Welding Torch comes with an outer heat shield removably secured on the flashlight body. The heat shield contains an electrically conductive member secured on the inside surface of the heat shield and in electrical contact with the nozzle assembly or a nozzle assembly retainer member once the nozzle assembly and heat shield are fastened on the flashlight body. A closed loop electric circuit is performed through some of the nozzle assembly and the electrically conductive member of this heat shield when both the nozzle assembly and the heat shield are fastened on the flashlight body. After the heat shield or the nozzle assembly are eliminated, the electric circuit is open along with the electric voltage flow into the electrode is disabled.
