TIG welding is generally a hand held welding gun, the other hand can held welding wire, suitable for small-scale operation and repair of manual welding. MIG welding wire sent from the torch through the automatic wire feeding mechanism, suitable for automatic welding, of course, can also be used by hand.
The difference between MIG and TIG is mainly in the protection of the atmosphere. Equipment is similar, but the former is generally protected with argon, suitable for welding non-ferrous metals; the latter will be generally mixed with argon in the argon gas, suitable for welding high strength steel and high alloy steel.
